This means that there is no current getting to the water. There are a few things that could cause this issue. Most of them are easily remedied.

  1. If you're using distilled or RO water, you may just have to add a little salt to the footbath.
  2. Ensure the array is plugged securely into the front of the machine.
  3. Make sure the black wire is secured to the lead marked "black." Same for the white wire.
  4. Change your plates (the inserts to the array). If the plates have worn out or are broken they will not conduct current. We always recommend keeping a spare on hand; however, you can order them on our website. Visit the IonCleanse® Accessories department of our store and place your order. Also see When do I change my plates article.
  5. Replace the array cord. The array cord will last anywhere from six months to a year or longer. The array cord will most likely not display a break in the wire which makes it hard to ascertain how much life it has left. Again, go to the IonCleanse® Accessories department of our store and make your purchase.

If none of the steps above solve the problem, it is possible, however very rare, that your machine will need servicing. See our article Sending my machine in for repair for further instructions.
